Mindfulness Foundations with Angela Tarquini-Sanders

4-Week Mindfulness Foundations is a beginner mindfulness meditation course that combines scientific research, proven mindfulness techniques, engaging exercises and support materials to help you realize the benefits of a mindfulness practice in your life. This series is also great for anyone wanting to "refresh" their meditation practice.

Over the 4 weeks, you will develop transformative, lifelong skills to help you:

  • Slow down the constant mind chatter and create space for peace, calm and a new perspective.
  • Connect with the present moment and be okay with whatever is happening with acceptance and without judgment.
  • Focus your mind to gain greater clarity and increase productivity.
  • Notice how your thoughts and feelings affect outcomes in your life.

Fee$250 includes four consecutive 90-minute classes and supporting materials.

     Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) with Paulette Grotrian

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported 8-week course designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion with which we can work with difficult emotions. The inner critic’s voice can often rob us of our self-confidence and inner peace. Participants learn to respond to difficult moments with kindness, understanding, and self-care. This powerful tool helps us develop emotional resilience and enhances emotional well being.

Based on the ground-breaking work of Christopher Germer, PhD, a leader in the integration of mindfulness and psychotherapy, and Kristen Neff, PhD, a pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion. Benefits include lower levels of anxiety and depression, more satisfying personal relationships, and greater happiness.

In MSC you’ll learn to:

  • Practice mindfulness and self-compassion in daily life
  • Understand the science of self-compassion
  • Use self-compassion to live in accord with your values
  • Handle difficult emotions with greater ease
  • Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
  • Work with challenging relationships
  • Manage caregiver fatigue
  • Practice the art of savoring and self-appreciation
  • Teach simple self-compassion skills to others

This program is designed for members of the general public. Meditation experience is not necessary to participate in MSC. All are welcome!

Program activities include discussion of topics, experiential exercises, meditation, small group interaction, and home practices. MSC is an opportunity to explore how we typically respond when difficulties arise in our lives and to learn tools for becoming a warm and supportive companion to ourselves.
