Welcome to Integrative Mindfulness
Serving Southwest Florida, Integrative Mindfulness emerged from the growing awareness of the many benefits of a mindfulness practice for the health of mind and body. Mindfulness strengthens our innate ability to be present with awareness, in the moment, as life unfolds. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based educational program proven to be effective for reducing stress and improving health, well-being, and quality of life. Designed and implemented by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, MBSR is supported by three decades of scientific research confirming its benefits. Today MBSR continues to grow in popularity and is taught in hundreds of health-care and wellness settings throughout the U.S. and worldwide. Integrative Mindfulness developed within this context, and provides MBSR to the Southwest Florida community as a complementary resource to promote the effectiveness of conventional medical therapies, and is available for anyone seeking a healthier way to live.
We cultivate mindfulness by learning simple meditation skills, gentle yoga movements, and developing our own personal practice. This basic investment can remarkably improve our physical and emotional experience of life.
